XOXO’s Mentorship for Childcare Providers is a nonprofit organization committed to helping daycare centers uphold high-quality standards while advocating for the mental health and emotional well-being of young children. We believe that quality childcare goes beyond safety and academics—it includes recognizing and supporting the mental and emotional needs of every child. Through mentorship, training, and practical resources, we partner with childcare providers to strengthen their programs, build trauma-informed practices, and promote inclusive, nurturing environments. Our mission is to empower caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to foster healthy development and early intervention for childhood mental health disorders.
Our Story
How XOXO's Mentorship for Childcare Providers Was Born?

XOXO’s Mentorship for Childcare Providers began with a simple truth: great caregivers deserve great support.
​
Our founder, Teresa Lewis, spent over a decade working in early childhood education—first as a preschool teacher, and later as a program director. Along the way, she saw something that never sat right: while families sought the very best care for their children, the people providing that care were often left to navigate their careers alone. No roadmap. No guidance. No one to ask, “Am I doing this right?”

It became clear—childcare providers were doing some of the most important work in the world, but too many were isolated, undervalued, and burned out. That needed to change.
​
So in 2020, XOXO’s Mentorship for Childcare Providers was launched with one goal in mind: to nurture the nurturers.
​
We began as a small, volunteer-based network of experienced childcare professionals offering mentorship to newcomers in the field. Through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and ongoing community support, we created a space where providers could learn, grow, and thrive—together.
​
Today, we’re proud to serve a growing community of caregivers across the country. From home-based providers to daycare staff and early childhood educators, our mentorship program is built on mutual respect, shared wisdom, and the belief that confident, well-supported caregivers change lives.
